    That 50 kuruş coin is nicely designed but also a little strange: The other five denominations, even the 1 lira, have ornamental designs. This one however shows what is now called Bridge of the 15 July Martyrs, the oldest of the Bosphorus bridges. Hope your trip was as enjoyable as the weather on that day. :)

    I saw one of these Art Deco Turkish Republic coins in the Istanbul Museum and had to get one.
