Does anyone know the meaning of the word TUIT and it's origin in regards to tokens/ wooden nickels?

    Thanks.

They are 3-dimensional puns - converting the expression "I'll get around to it" to "get a Round Tuit".

Usually, but not always, they are standard wooden nickle size - about the diameter of a silver dollar, but thicker. A Google search on "round tuit" brought up more than 34,000 sites - all sites on the first couple of pages are selling them!

I think I saw my first one in elementary school before WW II. ;)

:D My wife got me one of those a few years back so I wouldn't have any excuses for not getting my chores done around the house. I conveniently "lost" it! ;) I might never get a round tuit again!! :p
