The QX-5 is WIA Compliant (Windows Image Architecture), what this means is you should be able to use it to capture images into any program that supports it (like MS Paint or Photoshop). These images were captured in Photoshop CS2. Go to File>Import>WIA-Digital Blue QX-5 Microscope. From Paint it is File>From Scanner or Camera, select the QX-5 icon. You have to supply an external light source, for these I used a small book light, with a head small enough to fit under the housing. I think I picked it up at Home Depot. The first image was taken at 60X, the second at 200X. No post-capture processing was done on the images.

I don't remember if I used any other light.
Sometimes I just just a side flashlight, but I believe that one was just the 'scope.

I got mine last year at this time, and it is truly a neat little gadget. I have found some nice errors with it, and for the cost it's worth every penny.

Plus I got to check out other non-coin related interests.:goofer:

What spider is that? At first glance I thought it a wind scorpion but I don't think so.
Also, I noticed rotation between first and second pix, is it still alive at this point?

    Adelv,
I don't know the type of spider (I need to improve my entomology library), but it's pretty common around here. And no, it wasn't alive. I don't think my daughters would have been to keen on me bringing it in the house alive.;)
