I can say with a modicum of confidence that he would never take that up. His highly ethical approach to what he does concerning his overstrikes will not allow him to even Think of such an issue.

  6. I get all my Carr overstrikes slabbed by ANACS. My son will inherit my collection someday and has specific instructions to keep them encapsulated.

To produce or to possess? Yes for both to the former and no to the latter for both.

So legally, what's the status of my 1947 Morgan (pg.4, post #62)? It's not magnetic and not silver, probably zinc. It's obviously a complete fabrication but is it a counterfeit or a fantasy piece?

BS. You are wrong. Doug is correct. The court issued an opinion on the pieces based on Westminister's motion (to dismiss or summary judgment - I don't remember which). After the resolution of that motion, the case settled.

    The fantasy coins are counterfeits.

Not sure about that. Altered genuine US coins with fantasy dates are now clearly not in violation of the HPA but it can be interpreted to include all fantasy date designs I suppose regardless of planchet material

I'm thinkin' I might have to spring for a new Jansco.......I think a third light in the mix might distribute the light more evenly.

I've been using 3 lights for a while. It seems to help in most cases.

No. Gotta do that. I tried adding a Verilux to the mix, but that didn't work. The Verilux is a 'true light' so it was throwing the white balance off. Have to wait for the other Jansco........:)

First off - You are a guest and you don't make the rules. Really think about this for a moment - If I came into your business and told you what you were allowed to do or say, how do you think you would react?

This is our hobby too, and I really do not care how other forums run. I give my time freely because of how this forum runs.

All of the moderators on cointalk are not paid and are also collectors. We have every right to discuss topics the same as anyone else. Like anyone else, we are not always going to get everything correct. Plenty of people like to jump on that bandwagon when they think we have made an error. You of all people should know how that feels.
