Maybe should have pictured a guillotine. On January 21, 1793, King Louis XVI of France was publicly executed by guillotine at the Place de la Révolution (now the Place de la Concorde) in Paris. Found guilty of treason by the National Convention, his death marked the definitive end of the French monarchy and catalyzed the Reign of Terror.
