I used to collect baseball cards back in the 90s. Completely stopped after about 10 years. I used to go by the Beckett for value but knew that the value they posted for a card and what it actually could be sold for were completely different.

Coins are alot different I am learning and you can hardly compare the 2 hobbies.

I am curious of a very simple question. What is the highest amount of money you have personally paid for an error or variety coin? I dont care at all which coin, in fact, I dont want to know that at all. Just the dollar amount. On the opposite hand, how much have you SOLD one for? Again, please dont mention the coin itself unless you feel compelled for some reason.

I have personally neither bought nor sold any error coin .....yet.

The least I've ever paid for an error coin was 68c for a half dollar. The most I've ever sold a variety coin for was $1,000 for a proof quarter.
