Hello all , greetings from Luxembourg.
Still experimenting with this site. So many features... It will take a while for me
to master it... Please be patient with me.

It's apparent that this photo was taken at an angle because the coin is slightly elliptical. It is best to take photos from directly overhead since angled shots have a tendency to hide flaws.

If you're trying to capture the color of a coin (as the title suggests) you need to decide how such color will affect the eye appeal of the coin. In the case of this coin, whatever color there might be is of little interest to the overall appeal of the coin, so you should be concentrating your photographic efforts in showing the condition in the most accurate light.

    Hi Chris ,
Have been trying and trying to make a nice picture but to no avail.
Time to dig in now. It's 11PM. I'll try to search the website for articles on
taking pictures unless you can give me some hints. Camera , lens , ...etc...
Tried to scan too but that's not good at all.
    Cheers ,
    Hugo
