In 1993 a commemorative honoring the 50th Anniversary of United States' involvement in World War II was struck. Though it was struck in 1993 it bears the dates of 1991 and 1995. At the top of the obverse it reads "D-DAY JUNE 6, 1944. In 1994 all three denominations of commemerorative World Cup Tournament coins (half dollar, dollar and 5 dollar gold piece) bear the same design on the reverse: All three carry Dean McMullen's (the designer) rendition of the Official World Cup USA logo.
