On the Isle of Man, it's <b><i>Punt Sostynagh</i></b>. The Welsh refer to it as <b><i>Punt Sterling</i></b>. In Cornish, it's <b><i>Peuns Sterling</i></b>. In Scotland there are two different connotations: <b><i>Punnd Sasannach </i></b>(Gaelic) and <b><i>Poond Sterling</i></b> (regular).</p><p> </p><p>Note: In government and banking circles it is referred to as the <b><i>English Pound</i></b>. As the Brit commoners are fond of being more concise in language, thereby simplifying speech to make it easier to say, the <b><i>Sterling </i></b>and English halves of the denomination have been dropped in favor of <b><i>Pound</i></b> all by itself.</p><p>The United Kingdom's <b><i>Pound </i></b>circulates as legal tender on the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the South Sandwich Islands (including South Georgia), the British Antarctic Territory and Tristan da Cunha.</p><p> </p><p>Not only does the United Kindom's <b><i>Pound </i></b>freely circulate on the Isle of man, it does so along with the Isle of Man's own <b><i>Pound</i></b>.
