[QUOTE="Clinker, post: 1273920, member: 6229"]As you know the Mexican Revolution caused the collapse of the Mexican Government. In 1913 the then Mexican President, Francisco Madero, was assassinated. Soon afterwards the governor of Chihuahua, Abraham Gonzales, met the same fate. Martial Law was decreed in Chihuahua on the 10th of February 1914. One of the first tasks undertaken was the issuance of paper currency (notes). Weeks after the notes were released the populace in and around the State of Chihuahua began referring to them as Dos Caritas (en: 2 Little Faces). The notes' obverses feature both of the ill-fated leaders, President Madero and Governor Gonzales. These two examples of Chihuahua's revolutionary notes are a reminder of those terrible years in Mexico's history. The blue note bears the face value of 1 Peso and the pink one is a 5 Peso note.
