The collection could be further enhanced by adding one of the silver wartime Nickels produced at the Philadelphia Mint during the years 1942 through 1945. Because of the change of composition of the U.S. Nickels due to WWII a larger mint mark was placed above the Monticello building on the reverse. The first Nickel to be changed was the Type 2 1942 Nickel. This first silver composition War Nickel was minted in November of 1942. [QUOTE="Clinker, post: 1272210, member: 6229"][FONT=arial][SIZE=3]A Collection of Jefferson Nickels minted from 1938 to date can be enhanced with a collection of "P" mint marked Jefferson Nickels if the "P" collection includes showing where the "P" is located. You know that 1979 was the last year the Philadelphia Mint produced a Jefferson Nickel without a mint mark on it.
