To the left of the high relief "crack" (at the very bottom of the z-axis cross section), the doubling/tripling abruptly stops. And, to the left of the "crack" it's at a lower relief. Here's another picture of what I'm talking about with the high relief "crack" area. It's not as clear but I think it still shows the "crack" decently.
