[QUOTE="johnny54321, post: 681268, member: 13342"]Ok, so this last weekend we celebrated my parent's anniversary with a trip to Lake Tahoe. My sister had a timeshare in Genoa, so we stayed there and just happened to be 5 miles from Carson City. With some mild persuasion, I convinced my parents and wife to take a trip to the old Carson City mint; that is now the Nevada State Museum. Very neat place above and beyond just the coin world....I'd recommend it to anyone near by. They take you through the entire mining/minting process, from raw ore and dirt, into a freshly minted coin. They also have a fascinating underground mine exhibit that really puts you into the miner's shoes and the environment they worked in....well minus the 130 degree temperatures and collapsing caves.

Ok, anyways; back to the coins. They had a complete set of Carson City Coins!
