Today I practically STOLE a better date 1805 draped bust large cent in VF+. I bet I come close to tripling my money on it, so that's one of the hard ones that suddenly just became attainable.
I lost a ton of my favs, a few weeks ago, when the Chrome Browser went rouge on me and I had to re-install it. Slowly getting them back.......
I paid $100. Just sold it for $225, mere seconds after I listed it. Guess I should have asked for more.
People who say there is no money to be made in "details" coins have never sold on eBay. Maybe it is time to sell my 1802...
Grade just posted on this girl. PCGS MS62 BN. DDO FS-101, clashed reverse. That's a bit of an optimistic grade, if I do say so. Still, tied for 3rd finest at PCGS along with one other... behind several MS65's and a couple MS63's. I'm glad no one on CT bought it for $400 when I had it in the For Sale section. Rick Snow sold an ANACS MS61 this year for $650.
You have those people wrapped around your finger. Most submit a slam-dunk MS65 and get MS62. You submit an AU and get MS62.
I listed this on eBay for $200 OBO. About a week in, I got an offer for $100. I was about to accept it as I had $50 in it, but the buyer cancelled the offer and sent a $150 offer instead.
No promises. But yeah, I've been conservative about what I send this year and it has paid off. 2017 has been good to me thus far. I take chances on the coins I buy on eBay, but I don't take chances with NGC or PCGS anymore. That means more money for me and less for them, and that's the way I like it.
