    There seems to be an animal, possibly a tiger or lion on the scepter held by Zeus, on the reverse.

    It's definately Baal'ish looking. Also a thunder god and right at the time when mystery cults from the east were getting more popular.

    Donna, Everyone seems in agreement the reverse depicts Melkart or Melqart :). McAlee pictures 2 examples of 452, your coin appears closer to 452/2. McAlee pictures over 20 different examples of the Trajan / Melkart type. Pictured below is an example I sold long ago.

    You were right in this case! I have not seen this style before but seems it does exist.
