the IBNS is an amazing way to meet like minded collectors. I havign been trading with a fellow who contacted me from a foreign embassy. He contacted me first, and was fist to send me notes from his country. I sent him duplicates from my own collection - of which i really do not have many lol. And we were both happy with the trade.

I have traded with members of this forum alot in the past. There are alot of members from around the world who are willing to take some of their pocket change, and trade it for some of ours Also, keep in mind -- just because you live in Texas and someone else might live in new york... there is nothing to stop you from still trading notes - be they foreign or domestic. As long as both partys are happy, thats what i call a successfull trade

DaveL is right about Trust! I have recieved emails on cointalk from folks i have never even seen post. While i dont ignore then, i will reply that i dont know them well enough to venture a trade - unless the initiate with notes first. If they are honest, they agree - otherwise, i never hear from them again. With the IBNS, there are code of ethics involving all sales and trades. While the worst that can happen in a sour trade is getting kicked out - i would be tearfull if that happened. The IBNS helped me meet friend all around the world, and is a great source of information, articles and new note updates.

I dont mean for this post to end as a commercial for the IBNS, so i will stop here

just keep in mind, if you solicate a tradeing partner, be prepared to be the first to send notes for trade - if you recieve an offer, its not too much to expect them to be the first to send notes for trade.
