    Please do. I haven't really studied Trade Dollars so don't have the knowledge to give a educated guess, but it looks real and like @Mainebill states in post #12, maybe just an old pocket piece.

    It was brown when I sent it in, somehow the conservation process removed the brown. It looks great now and I am really glad I sent it in.

    Did you say it is fake? How can you tell? By the wear? Can you post better pictures of it?

    Actually no it couldn’t cause it was real. Doing some homework and making sure the weight was right will rule out 90% of the fakes. Most fakes aren’t this worn either. And always have some tells like weak central details. Faked wear mushy denticles etc. a lot have poor hair facial and hand detail too. When original this design is very crisp and very detailed part of why I love em
