Message:: [QUOTE="Tater, post: 2708335, member: 9717"]So not sure how to ask the question or what question I really am trying to ask.  I recently bought a 1971 S Ike in a newer edge viewer NGC holder graded MS 67.  It was from a large national auction house and the I looked at their photos and the photos posted on NGC website.  The hit on the high cheek bone in hand is a lot worse than I imagined it would be, other than that the coin looks nice.  Searching good 'ol ebay it compares to some of the other ones online for both PCGS and NGC however its not in the top end of the grade.  Now I have been submitting to NGC some very nice 1976 S Ikes trying to get them to hit MS 68.  The last batch that I sent in was the best ones that I have ever sent in and I received my worse results ever.  I do believe that this was a statement sent back from NGC as we are now tough on Ike's blah blah blah.  So I compare them to online photos and this 71 S that I own with my 72-74 S coins in MS 68 and the two that graded 67 are far better than any of the others that I own and the three 66's that came back are hands down better than the 71 S that I just bought.  So where the 71 S in ms 67 and the 76 S in ms 68 are considered the keys of the MS strike series can any comparisons be made between the two.  Were the reverses of the coins are different are the grading standards similar between the two coins.[/QUOTE]
