yeah...Ive been working on that one for hours. Too many coins in the middle east with similar writing. Rupees are the only coin Ive found with just writing on them..so far.
Here are some more pics from 7f. Hope they help. I got some currency books today and have been working on the paper money only problem is the books are from 1986 but they still help. Thanks again for all the help.
I think I found the smaller one I believe it is from Nepal but not sure which paisa it is. Im getting closer though.
Looks like the front of a Paisa with the 2092 but the other side has has 5 symbols more like a 25 Paisa???
what I could find out....the first coin is a paise from Nepal the date 2092 is actually 2012 but stands for 1955 it is the size of a nickel, was used for 2 years worth...1.00 or under
Hello twigg, the 2092 one is the same size as a US cent. Do some of the Piase have 5 symbols over the mountains like this coin? The coin book I have shows 4 symbols. Thanks again for the help.
Nepal 10 Paisa (1953-1955) km#737 http://worldcoingallery.com/countries/Nepal_all.html Value .15 F .25 VF .50 XF .75 UNC
that second coin..grrrr I dont believe its from India or Persia. If you look near the top you see that small V shape. Coins from India and Persia have small dots in a flower shape. I will keep hunting though.
well I found a bit on the coin. Its a turkish gurush and seems to be very old http://www.osmanliparalari.com/yazi/kurus/kurus-EN1.htm UPDATE: I found this page http://www.osmanliparalari.com/kose_yazilari/munichENG.htm very interesting to say the least. I have emailed the web author and have asked for info on your coin. I sent them your pics of the coin. This hunt has turned into a mystery...lol Who knows, may be some nice bucks in this one
Thanks again Twiggs. I been looking for this one and was no where near this close. As for the nice bucks hope so. Cant wait to hear the response. Sincerely, fastfun1111
