What do you think of this SLQ?

Environmental toning on the obverse looks even, the reverse looks as though someone attempted to clean it. Otherwise, nice coin.

Is that a dent under the "Y" in LIBERTY?

Uneven toning does not automatically suggest cleaning. Those lines look like die polish lines.

If they're raised, indeed true, but I suspect otherwise......larger and expandable photogs could be most helpful in the determination. :)

They look raised to me, and if they were scratches/hairlines, they would be over top of the devices and not just in the fields.

They shouldn't be in the devices at all.

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that it had an issue. I meant series issue as in specific date and mint mark. It is a 1917 S type two. Although the S type one from 1917 gets more notoriety, The type two has a lot lower population numbers. It’s a very difficult Coin to find in higher grade.

It looks pretty much nice to me from the photo.

My best guess is that the untoned portion had some kind of glue or lacquer on it. Or it was in a some kind of holder that had the untoned section protected to whatever the rest of the coin was exposed to.

I agree with the second part of your statement.

While it certainly looks like a nice higher grade example from a details viewpoint, I do not care for the toning.
