I've never dealt with "Eric" but he's way up front about it so no problem by me. Yep, the bidders were stupid on that one. Not like it's a key date - jeez! It's one thing to buy a cleaned coin if it's a tough date but a fairly common one? I went to a show yesterday and nearly walked out without spending a dime. Then I saw a coin that I wanted/needed. Yep, think it took a cleaning in the past and got a good, first hand look at it and bought. Why? 1855 3 Cent Silver in VF+. Guy had it marked $150 and got it for $125 which is still retail. I see them on ebay now and then but never trust them. This one I saw and I've dealt with this dealer before. It was my decision and I went for it. Mintage is 139,000 by the way and I really have to wonder how many of that date of baby fingernail sized coins remain. Nice die clash on the reverse too. Point is that I did this as an informed buyer for a tougher date. Buying a cleaned, "common" Lincoln at full retail is just dumb. P.S. For all those that joke about buying dremels etc. that really wouldn't make sense. Buy the cleaned coin cheap then sell it as cleaned. Seemed to work for this seller. I've got a nasty 13-S that I need to get rid of!
