Here’s a challenging question for the group:

There are five *main* types of FEL TEMP coins, commonly called:

    1. “barbarian and hut”
    2. “emperor on a galley”
    3. “soldier spearing a fallen horseman”
    4. “phoenix on a pyre/globe”
    5. “emperor and two captives”

These were struck for Constans and Constantius II, but disproportionately so. Numismatists have long observed, for example, that the “hut” coin is disproportionately associated with Constans. Anecdotally, it seems a bit easier to find an “emperor and two captives” coin for Constantius II than for Constans.

My question: If one wished to put together a set of 5 of these centenionales for the same emperor from the same mint, for what mint and emperor (e.g., Constans/Antioch) would it be the easiest?

    Idle speculation welcome.

Without having done any analysis I suspect it to be Constans from Siscia based on the fact that this is the set as set out above that I have. These were aquired without attempting to create such a set
