I always was tempted by the idea of collecting coins from Baden, where my maternal grandmother was from and her family lived for hundreds of years, but have never bought any. France, given that my paternal grandfather was born in Paris, where his parents lived for a good part of the 1880s on their way to the USA from Eastern Europe, and given that I have a lot of ancestors on the Baden side of my mother's family who lived in Alsace, at least as far back as the 1500s.
