Well, if you're only going to buy a handful of coins for the year ... make them count - which you truly did. Stunning in every sense of the word.
They are all great; however, seeing as how I am collecting the MA legionary series, I'll take it first. But really, I would love any one (or all) of these.
Excellent group. I like the way you find well developed facial features on the tiny reverse characters!
As usual, your coin purchases are simply superb!!! I find it impossible to go beyond choosing three of the four as my 'favorite' LOL
I am in awe of Volodya's disciplined approach. Looking at his exceptional coins, as well as other posters' top 10s, I can't help but think that I buy too many coins each year! If I limited myself to coins that would make my top 10 list, I could assemble a spectacular, bigh-quality Roman Republican collection in 20-30 years. It's the often repeated quality-over-quantity debate. I have a tendancy to fall somewhere in the middle of the quality-quantity scale, and collecting for me is a constant internal struggle between two collector "personalities" - the quantity buyer vs. the quality buyer. This results in frequent buyer's remorse, particularly after coin shows, when I feel I could have bought one "great" coin if I'd skipped several "okay" coins. It might be fun if some of us posted our 10 biggest regret purchases of the year - the coins we wish we hadn't wasted our money on. Volodya, of course, is excused from that exercise.
Very nice - 'only-four', but an amazing four! I'll trade you half of my collection for the Legio VIII. A simply fantastic piece!
Quality over quantity ! Yes, you're right @Volodya, those are dream coins any day ! Congrats and thanks for shring Q
