(After all, it's not as if the Roman system of coin denominations was always or entirely based on multiples or fractions of 10!) Plus, if I did that, I probably wouldn't be able to show any of my favorite Roman Provincials, since those will almost always come off second-best if they have to compete for attention with the best Imperials or Republicans, never mind the best Ancient Greek coins. The fact that I've posted more favorites this year than last year as a percentage of all my purchases is irrelevant. As time passes, I make fewer purchases (half as many this year as last year), but I think that the average quality is higher, and I'm much less likely to buy a coin in the first place if I don't think it's "worthy" of being considered one of my favorites. Perhaps I'm being overly defensive, but it's difficult for me to let what I consider unfair or exaggerated characterizations pass without comment.[/QUOTE]
