This screams fake to me. ~$20K coin in a 2x2 acquired in the old estate sale! Blurry pictures, seller with 21 feedback of which only 4 are as a seller. All are unopened silver dollar rolls. Joined eBay in Jan 2016. PCGS has graded 4 in 67. NGC, 9. The stars in the right field don't look right to me, the "5" looks a little wrong as do the arrow heads. Rims look too good. Not a mark anywhere. There's some kind of mark on the reverse above the eagles right wing. Appears to be some graffiti below the right wing and above the arrow shafts. I'd run.
You are correct. I have had the same thing happen with ACG and PCI coins being removed. I don't think that any person checks; ebay most likely has some program that recognizes key words or pictures, and then removes the listing. If it's happened once to you, then you're likely put on some list and they check your listings more frequently. I always wondered why people covered certain slab pictures, but now I know and find myself having to do the same.
I studied this coin last night. The patina is too even [looks polished], the lettering looks a bit rough [other examples seem to have more even tooling without the rough tops to the letters], the left wing top looks a little worn, and the left thigh looks a little worn [maybe from the polishing], I agree with DUDE in that the feathers on the arrows are odd. Also, the breast feathers look a little worn on high points. Looks like a nice cleaned A U coin. Chascat
Liberty's face does not look natural to me...but who would not spend $40 or so to have this authenticated and graded were it genuine? If real, it is a monster coin.
Either someone with too much money , or not enough knowledge . Especially sight unseen from an iffy pic .
Pic still leaves a lot to be desired as it was a lousy pic to begin with , but thanks Ken it does make it easier to see . Maybe this MM will match . Click on the pic and it will enlarge .
