That will likely appreciate someday. At least more than any generic Liberty Dollar. I want a copper one!
You need to post that on the PRWE site...that should generate some posts !!! I have seen that advertised in the AZ Republic newspaper. A neat way to raise campaign cash, tho he is not my guy.
I try to follow the rules regarding off-topic posts. But I like hard times tokens, civil war tokens, and silver rounds with historical themes and particularly those about great Americans such as Daniel Webster, Andy Jackson, Martin Van Buren, William Harrison, and now Ron Paul.
There was some paper dust on the scanner, but the actual coin has pretty good proof surfaces for a round. US Mint coins are almost always better quality than privately minted coins. I don't know of any other silver rounds for presidential campaigns. Has anyone ever seen one?
Not a big fan of the Ron Paul round for political reasons, but I do like Liberty Dollars in general for other reasons, and it is a well-made coin regardless
I am the exact opposite, Liberty Dollars are a scam...its just a money making venture, IMO not the grand idea it tries to make itself out to be in practice. But I would almost plunk the money down because I like Mr. Ron Paul.
Like Doug said guys---talk abou tthe round and not about the man. If you want to do that take it to the PRWE forum. Speedy
While it may be too early to lobby for Ron Paul on a US Coin, I think he's definitely (Casino Round/Liberty Dollar) material... Remember, there were lots of famous leaders in American History who should have been on coinage and never made it. On the other side of the coin (so-to-speak) there are Susan B. Anthony and Abigail Adams of relatively recent coinage projects/flops, so it's not a guaranteed or perfect process... Take Care Ben
I also own a set of ten "Bill of Rights" silver rounds produced by Johnson Matthey that I like alot. I like the whole arena of exonumia with political themes and people from American history. And the silver content provides a little lasting value even if the theme does not.
