Too close

    Ummm, uh-oh ... I have a USB microscope (that pretty much says it all, eh?)

    :oops:

    My set-up is kinda cool, but my results seem a bit awry!! ... perhaps it's the wine? (in the background)

    Here is a shot of my 1936 DDO 1. Got my digital microscope last week and trying to come up with a better stand for it. Right now I'm having to hold the thing steady while I shoot!

    g01800fd0450inset.jpg Working on this project is going slowly. The above is a 4 image focus stack after I picked off all the flakes of whatever made up the dust and debris. The bull is considerable degraded by the noise from the dotted border on the coin that ran through him horizontally. I think this is where I stop with this one. The problem is finding a coin with enough small detail to make such an image worth doing. This has become as much of my hobby as collecting coins themselves. CT software greatly reduced the image size here. The big one is here:
