To say the least ive finally learned what real tone and fake tone is... i got ahold of a real one and then burnt a nickel and whiped it off and had a fake one and examined them... the real ones color does not fade on the higher parts of the coin such as jeffersons cheak area and forehead area it can be just as colorful as the rest or it can be faded but the fake one is hardly ever darker then the rest of the coin because it gets rubbed off... another thing.. real ones done rub off and fake ones do... i went from a nice golden colored nickel that i burnt to the original color by whipping it hard with a rag... another observation i noted was that the real seemed to be spread evenly while the fake was more eratic most likely do to the fire burning harder in one area then the other... so because of this I tried using chemicals to change the apperience of the nickel and see if it stayed even... It did not... the reason being simple... the smallest whipe takes away the surface chemical.. the chemical is only on the surface same as the burn... the real is caused by the reaction between the actuall metal and the surrounding elements... whether it be cold, heat, wind, rain, or any other substance such as maybe even uv rays changing the appearance... so in conclusion... ive basically just reitterated what most of you told me yesterday atleast now i should beable to tell the difference between a fake tone and a real... I will be studing more on it.. but hey.. i figured we needed to talk about something.... soooo... LETS TALK

Mach
