    toning

I have similar toned Buffalo's that I've little doubt are AT. They're beauties and UNC, but if they have been tampered with in any way how could they be considered MS? I also have a number of both U.S. and World coins that are in their original unperforated mint packaging that show a wide range of toning.
I have to admit that the iridescent Morgans and deep golden Franklins are eye candy to rival the most pristine blazer.

How did it get that way?? From the spot on Washington's chin, it looks like it may have been stored in a humid safe without silica gel.

That would be my "guess", but because none of the other coins in the sealed package were toned, I would also bet that the Mint's wash may not have been totally removed before packaging.
