Toned or not toned, can't tell what I like better here!

I owned a toned one of these:


and accidentally found this in my mailbox earlier in the week:



Not sure how that happened. Technically an upgrade, but I'm not sure the numerical values matter to anything but the NGC registry.

Now, as a completely opposite action I already had this one:


and inexplicably found this in my mailbox later in the week:

Same grade and same variety (type I and no-border) though in opposing TPG slabs.

So which is it? I have one toned coin and buy a white one, and one white one and buy a toned one. Both are significant budgetary outlays (by my standards) so why did I buy the dupes????

Coin collectors are nuts.

It's so easy to acquire coins. I wish it was as easy to sell (without losing so much to fees, that is).

 

I did, could not resist -- I would have regretted it the second it left if I'd sent it back.
