Okay, I found a virgin islands quarter. That's the third one this week, and I have yet to see a second Guam, Puerto Rico, or ANY Samoa or Marianas. Nor have I seen a capito building penny or a young lincoln sitting on his butt penny, or an '09 nickel or dime. This might be a good place to announce the first 2010 coin found.
found a dateles Buffalo Nickel on the ground in front of a middle school. probably discaraded as it is very well worn. keeping in my pocket for, hopefully, good luck.
I can't seem to put any nickel minted prior to 1960 back into circulation........I guess it is a personal problem.....
I found a 1939 S penny in my pocket change today. I was quite pleased as I was missing that particular date for my folder!
The little lady brought me home a '42D wheat penny from work. She does a pretty good job of keeping an eye out for weird stuff....she's brought me home some really strange coins too that hopefully I can get pix to turn out for.
Could not believe it but I got 3 presidential dollars in change they were all GW dollars. The gold dollars were in bad shape so I just turned around and spent them at the local Taco shop.
got back from the exchange of which my buddy told the cashier to give the pennies to me and one was 1945
One of the vending machines at my work place spits out dollar coins. I've actually used this vending machine to get various coins I've needed. Unlike some vending machines, whatever I put into this machine, it'll spit out coins from it's bank and not force me to buy anything. I've gotten most of the state quarters (P & D) this way. Also got a few dollar coins including a SBA 1999. What I really like about the machine, it'll spit out 5 one-dollar coins whenever you put a five in it and hit the return button. It's creating awareness of the coin at my workplace. Most of the people there were not even aware of these coins. More vending machines should be set up this way!
