Hello everyone, I decided to go to the LCS today. Didn't spend a whole lot but here's what I bought. 1817 Capped bust half dollar - AG03 1935 A Hawaii Emergency note 1893 Columbus commemorative half - AU55. I'm not personally interested in this design (I had one already), but the toning on the obverse is really pretty so I just had to get it for my type set And finally an old bank bag, from the Fulton National Bank of Atlanta. The LCS owner was nice enough to give it to me for free. I had only seen these in pictures before and it's really cool to have oneIMO. It was dirty when I took the pic but I washed it when I got home, it's drying now.
They are a really neat piece of history, unlike normal silver certs you have a better idea as far as what they went through.
This particular canvas bank bag is from my mom’s neck of the woods. My uncle found this bag and a bunch of common date wheat cents a few years ago when cleaning out an attic in a condemned house.
Nice little haul! I've been wanting to get a Hawaii note as well. Problem is I want a nice UNC one, and I want all the denominations $1, $5, $10 and $20. Then of course I would need to get the North Africa notes as well....
Picked up some NA bills last year in the 40-58 range.....Under $300 as I recall, gotta check....splurged on the Hawaii note....67 with a triple-digit SN.
Splurged? I'd call that down right gluttonous!! LOL! I'd be ecstatic about that one, a triple digit 67... I'd love to see it.

I looked but never saw one in as high a condition but 2-digit SN. The price would have jumped a ton, IMO, based on what I saw from 65's and 66's (I think I saw one) with 2-digit SN's. I think I recall $2,500 - $3,000 or so. Glad I bought it, because I had to put my pursuit of $500 and $1,000 bills on hold so I did the right thing grabbing what I could afford and see at that particular time.
Sorry to the OP for accidentally hijacking your thread. This will be my last post in here that is not referring directly to your post. Worth every cent!!! It's a stunner.
