I got a couple of original $1 2000P original mint rolls from my favorite teller. I have opened a few of these before (for the wounded eagles) and had no luck. Should I open them, save them, or sell them?
Sell them ... well most of them . I never liked the way they toned . I think they should of used some other kind of Composition than Brass . IMO
I always open these types of rolls. Nothing to lose really and you might find something special. I have found several die cracks and die chips over time. Others here will say to save them. To me, it's just tying up needed funds for more roll finds.
I got a few original Sacagawea rolls from the bank before as well. I opened one and then sold the few other rolls to a dealer and made a few dollars lol. If you can afford to keep them, it might not be a bad idea to just put them in a safe and forget about them. Maybe they will appreciate in value as more rolls are opened?
