These are 2 coins of the Fallen Horseman series. The first has undoubtedly a triple die crack on reverse(don't count the spear). The second seems to have a possible die clash on obverse.
TIF, perhaps we are going about this the wrong way. It might be easier for us if we could convince more ancient collectors to collect slabbed Morgans and bullion rounds instead of things we want. Do you think we could get Clio to change over to Proof Sets?
some neat error coins guys, i wish i had one. i just noticed these coins have this general shape.. any particular reason? the new protrusion doesn't exactly seem to be where the other coin was. i assume there was a little gap here created by the other coin and the metal is flowing a bit when it was stuck down the path of least resistance?
Sorry, gang ... but I couldn't help myself aaaahhh, the good ol' days, eh? ... sorry, I couldn't sleep
These errors aren't brockages, where 2 coins are struck together. Instead, it is a double strike where the coin is struck once normally and then the flan is moved considerably off center and the coin is struck fully again. In my case on the OP, the coin was flipped before being struck again. The shape is due to the severely off center strike squishing the metal out of shape.
