I have made good money on CAC Commems bought at auction in grades 65-66 and then marked up and flipped in online store. One sold within a week easily getting A good markup. Show customers more picky, or possibly less pocket. However some CAC coins lingered in inventory for awhile. The coins which moved the quickest were obviously PQ with super luster no problems. One had light gold enhancing toning. As far as the coins still lingering pushed them out at less above bid to move them. Many of these CAC coins had average luster but acquired cheap slightly below bid not A coins like PQ above. Some sell well some don’t. The project was successful as the PQ getting higher markup floated the boat so to speak. So A coins will get better markup but B lower

Markup or fail break even. Sort of like some opening 2 card hands in Texas Holdem more likely sure winners / good for all in.

However that’s scary the 1832 10c had hairline appearing surfaces. I don’t think would sell well on the bourse and you most likely made a good decision in returning it. For big ticket coins like that I need to see them sight seen on the bourse bc photo no matter how good is not always a good indicator.

The sheet does not give a CAC bid on material under MS63. The CAC bid premium starts shootIng up for grades 66 and 67. One needs to have an understanding of the pricing system plus know how grade and look at coins make money on these. A bad decision on a big ticket coin will swamp your boat. Experienced players will not pay the money for average quality or less. Many collectors really don’t know how look at / grade and price coins so they are beaten from the opening kickoff sticker or not in this smash mouth south of steady market.
