http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=26682 After seeing this thread with people saying they would pay only just a tiny fraction of the value on a lot of coins...I think you he would be better putting it up on ebay. no offense but people were saying they would buy the lot for less than the worth of one coin Selling them one by one with a beginning bid close to a reasonable low ball of the coins worth is probably the way to go. I would get a clear pic...give your best grade...If the pic is clear, they can estimate themselves on this. Reasonable shipping and you are good to go. Dont hype it up that much, a good coin will be obvious from a good picture...no need to lay on the sales pitch and take up 2 pages for a write up...just be completely honest.
Drusus: The values assigned were done to protect the poster, as we bot know the seller claimed XF grades. Considering the span of items offered as a lot, I truly doubt that they are all XF's. Kind of a coincidence don't you think? If they are truly XF, then the values (of course) would increase) but I tend to doubt it.
I would tend to quote a price according to what he says they are...then if they arent what he says they are...go lower...One could say instead of protecting him you misled. It might have been better to say 'the lot, IF in fact in that condition, would be worth XX.XX amount....but I wouldnt pay this amount until seeing the lot and confirming these grades'....no big deal though...just like everyone says here...its not wise to offer anything until one at least sees a clear photo of what one is buying anyway...
Keeping it simple EG: Denomination, country of origin, date, grade, problems, toning, reference to Krause ETC ! (not as simple as I had hoped....!)
