Those are some Great looking raw 1954's! I've been looking for some time now for decently toned raw 1954 D and S Washies, and haven't found anything I'm particularly fond of.
Here are the 1947 PDS coins for my toner Washington 1940 - 1964 Dansco set. This is meant to be a fun inexpensive project, so I'm looking for nice but not killer (expensive) coins for the date/mm. IMO the P mint here could have been in a mint set, and then was at some point in a roll, hence the reverse linear features. The D was most likely in an envelope, and the S was most likely in an album. The images are by Bob Campbell and I think he did an excellent job.
It looks like we're doing Washies from 1948. I really like the looks of your '48-S, Mas. Here's mine. The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.
Here are the 1942 PDS Washingtons for the toner Dansco set I'm putting together. Finding raw reasonably attractively toned Washies from the early '40's is difficult. I plan to upgrade the D and S to BU when and if I can find appealingly toned examples. The P was imaged by Shane Canup and the D and S were imaged by Bob Campbell. I think they did excellent jobs.
Wow those are some amazingly toned quarters!!! I do believe this thread has rekindled my fondness for tones coins. ~CWS
I just sold 2 large collections of dimes and quarters. And ended up holding about $10 worth merely because they have various degrees of toning.
Here are the 1941 PDS Washingtons for my toner Dansco. Finding decently toned Washingtons from the early 1940's is tough. I would eventually like to upgrade the P & D to BU, but I'm happy with the ones I currently have. The images were done by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.
Nice proof Mainer. Here are the 1952 PDS Washingtons for my toner 1940 - 1964 Washington Dansco album. I've posted 2 P mint Washies as I'm not sure which one I'll use. One of the nice things about putting together this set is that most of the coins are fairly inexpensive, so I can buy multiple examples that catch my fancy. Of course, once you get multiple examples, then you get another Dansco album to put your backups in. I like both P mints, they're just different. Any thoughts as to which one you prefer? The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.
