And to make things even worse, if you compare coins the TPGs graded years ago to the coins they graded in recent times you&#039;ll quickly see that those grades don&#039;t match each other either.</p><p><br /></p><p>This is precisely why the mantra - buy the coin, not the slab - even exist, and it also explains how it came into existence.</p><p><br /></p><p>To put it another way, what buy the coin not the slab means is this - completely ignore what it says on the plastic and grade the coin yourself - and have trust in your own grade !
