By asking these questions I'm learning. Take a look and let me know what you think thanks. The first 1984 die chip in the T in trust. The second is the 1983 is this bubbling where the mint mark is and in the S in trust? The third I am not sure if it PMD or what. The L in liberty is missing and IN is missing. Ware damage?
The zinc bleeding through is a sign of bubbling. The 1988 is probably a result of being struck through grease with the missing letters. And the first does appear to be a die chip. Minor errors but I save them all except for the exploded bubbled ones. I have saved B.U.'s with extreme bubble lines as an interesting curiosity.
I'm always at a loss when I see them this extreme. There is such a thin layer of copper that probably if left on a hot engine block for awhile it might happen. But 82 and 83 were both bad years for these. They seemed to get somewhat better as time went on. More likely to see random bubbles now than like back then. Maybe a torch passed over this one. (yellowish discoloring).
