    A. My coin.

(Alternate photo of coin A- a bit shadowy, but shows the toning from another angle)

    B. coin in an upcoming CNG auction. Ex- @Andrew McCabe.

I'm not saying I'll be switching from A to B (I probably won't be bidding, due to poverty), but noticed B and like it. Like mine, it appears to have attractive old cabinet toning. The smaller head with shorter hair is interesting. It has a few faint old pin scratches, but those don't seem too awful to me.

I think they're both attractive coins. Just thought I'd do another poll for giggles, is all.

LM, did you wait to post this until after the auction today?
I picked A. because I like to see the corn ear details and I think your coin is better. Also the chair details on your coin are good.

Ah. No. See? I didn't even notice the auction had closed. Wasn't paying attention to that when I fetched the link. I had watchlisted Coin B several days ago.

So Coin B went for $190 plus the juice.

I have considerably more than that in mine- Coin A cost me $308, if you include the cost of the NGC slab I put it in (hey, stop booing and hissing, y'all- I can hear you.)

    For the money
, and taking in the near equality in eye appeal, I suspect Coin B might have been a better value for whomever just bought it. But I'm happy with mine. :) (Even if it turns out I overpaid.)

I was disappointed that there was no bacon option, so I picked A

Wonder if bacon would be good in chili?

Pah! Who am I kidding? Of COURSE it would!

Didn't vote as I was unable to find the Brewster's Millions option :shifty:

Coin A seems preferrable to me because the reverse inscription on B is poorly struck. Otherwise I like them both.

A friend of mine puts macaroni in his chili and I don't care for it, really. I like your polls, lordmarcovan.

I voted for A, it has nicer details (especially on the reverse) and so it should have cost more. I also voted for "I like chili with beans", but would have voted for "I like chili with beans and rice" if that was an option cuz that's how my Mom makes it. And I like silly LordM polls.

Coin A is superior in strike and style. How can you have chili without beans?

I would vote for obverse of B, reverse of A if I could. This is assuming both have equal luster, (hard to tell with CNG photos). I love the luster on yours, and the reverse is CLEARLY superior on A. Obverses depend on taste really. I can see why others said A had better style, but something about B attracted me.

It really points out something positive. Collectors can legitimately like different coins, which is good since its a little easier to collect if we aren't all in agreement on what is the most desirable coins.

I chose A, just more appealing to my eyes. Quick question: was L. Furius Brocchus by any chance the antecedent of the Broccoli family, whose vegetable invention in the mid-19th century (boo) ultimately led to James Bond movies (yay)?
