    Hello coin peeps. I'm back to this thread & I think we are at 1803 now. Is that right? I'll take it down to 1803 anyway.

    The Louisiana purchase happened in 1803. $15,000,000 bought 828,000 square miles and there are 640 acres in a square mile. Therefore, each acre in the Louisiana purchase cost about 3 of these 1803 cents.
