Here are three rather nice crown size pieces I recently acquired.
    Two questions:
#1 - which one is your favorite?
#2 - which one do you think is the highest grade?

I think the Belgian coin is the highest grade although I like the Cuban

I would think the Mexican Peso is the highest graded. The Cuban piece is nice, a lot of those have been cleaned.

    The Mexican Peso from Chile?:)

The Chile coin is my favorite. I've wanted one of those for awhile.

These are all extremely nice. My eyes see fewest contact marks on the Cuban. The Belgian is probably my favorite design, but I'm not a huge fan of the toning on that or the Chilean peso, so the Cuban peso also ends up being my favorite I suppose.

My personal favorite is the Chilean Peso. The detail on the condor is astounding. I compared it with a couple MS63 examples and the detail on mine is superior to coins in that grade. It appears the high points are the condor's "collar" and its "knee"...those are highly technical bird-part terms. Trust me.
The few little spots of toning are unfortunate, I agree, but the coin has tremendous luster that tries hard to make up for the detractions.

Yes, a couple of spots of toning are really a minor issue in my view, but I had to break the tie somehow. :) I'm not as familiar with this peso as I am with the next design (

Yeah, I'd have to say Chile. The feather details of that engraving are interesting to me.

Wonderful coins, I like the Cuban especially.

I see the most detail in the Chilean Peso so I would guess it would grade the best. Weird thing about it for me is that the condor always catches my eye on posts because it's not attractive looking, more like threatening.
I'd want to own the Belgian 5 franc coin. Congrats on getting them.

Great coins. I would collect all of those very expensive (for me) coins.

I love the Cuban pesos from that era. Wish Ebay would stop banning listings for Cuba; would make it so much easier to find these.

I probably won't be keeping all three of them. They were part of a large lot of world coins I purchased with the intent of keeping some and selling off others in order to subsidise the cost of the ones kept.

I like the piece from Chile. The piece from Cuba is rather nice.
Do you have others to share?

    Well, since you asked...
Here are a couple British North Borneo cents. I'd put them at AU. MS pieces have more detail down the middle of the front of the "skirts" (which I'm sure have a proper name).

The detail on the shield and flag is amazing. Really nice pieces.
Don't stop now, I'm sure you have others.

I find, and bid on, coins from Cuba all the time. I've been buying Cuba coins for years. No official person of any kind has ever said a word about it. In fact, the only people I've known to be talking about the "dangers" of buying Cuba coins on eBay are the people right here on Coin Talk !!

Give it a try. Just enter in the search box what you're looking for.
