It should be interesting to see the designs of future dollars each year as the series develops.

Do you think it will be a series worthy to collect

I'd like it a lot more if it wasn't that gold dollar coin.

Ordered mine. Both A & B Positions. But I would have preferred if they didn't start this series, at least in the gold tone.

More money making ballast by the US Mint. The mint is getting to be like the USPS. The USPS is making so many stamps each year that I call it wallpaper. The same with the US Mint. The general collector can't be in the game because every issue is put out at a premium over face. If you have to "buy" each addition to your collection it will no longer be fun and will eventually destroy the hobby as young collectors will not be attracted.

Thoughts? I think it's the most poorly design coin the US Mint has ever produced. Quite an accomplishment, considering some of the atrocities they've foisted upon us over the past 30-40 years. :D

How do you order "Both A & B Positions" before they leave the mint? How do we know that there will be 2 positions?

I have a question too: if you would have preferred the mint didn't start this series, then why are you buying them?

The new coins were put on sale December 14, 2018. Here is a quote from the email I received from the US Mint that day:
"The United States Mint is proud to announce the 2018 American Innovation $1 Proof Coin. This coin, also available in an uncirculated finish, features a powerful design paying homage to American ingenuity."
I'd like to know why I can't find the "uncirculated finish" from the San Francisco mint, or are they just trying to get me to buy the P's & D's as "uncirculated finish"?

You need to buy a roll or bag to get the UNC P and D.
