Thoughts on a Canadian Cent

    I picked this coin up a few months ago and forgot about it until I stumbled upon it today. I was just curious to see what you all thought about it. What do you think caused the colorful toning?

    I've seen a few Lincoln cents that looked similar to your coin. They were kept in a can and left in a damp basement for about 30 years.

    That is an interesting looking Lincoln. I had assumed this was artificially toned, but I suppose it still makes for an excellent album coin.

    Both of the cents shown in this thread have been treated with chemicals and have grossly unnatural color. Blech.
