So, the FUN is over. I loved reading the updates, especially @lordmarcovan's thread! I really wish I could go to this one. Actually, I'm putting it on my Bucket List. Maybe next year??? Gotta convince the boss of that!

Anyway, now that it's over, and I missed it again, I was wondering....

What are the must-attend coin shows for the year?
Which events do all you CT folk put in ink on your calendars?
Which events am I most likely to meet some of the CT folk?

I really hope to get to some shows starting in 2025, and going forward, so that I can meet some of you in person!

I hope you make it to a future FUN show. Since my travel radius is limited to stuff within a 5-6 hour driving range from me, that effectively limits me to Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

So when I do a big national show, FUN is the one I do. I did once attend an ANA show in Charlotte in 2007.

Really, I don’t get out much, so it’s special when I do. Knowhutimean?

Nice thing about Orlando is that if you’re traveling with non-collector family members, there’s plenty for them to see and do elsewhere, while you’re elbow-deep in coins.

I go to shows within a three hour drive
I always go to our coin club show every year late Feb early March. I often go to the winter show in Fargo ND. I've done a lot of state shows SD, ND, and the MOON Show. I have been to a few National Shows, CSNS in Minneapolis back in 2000 and the RCNA show in Winnipeg MB in 2013.

I can only wish my wife will go with me to the next coin show in my area.:sorry: I've never gone to one and they have a HUGE market in Brimfield, MA in the summer. Lots of vendors there selling everything from A to Z! Anyone near this event? o_O

My hopes exactly when the Mrs. retires. Have relatives near Orlando, so this might work out. :woot:

It's been 9 years now since I made it to FUN. I keep intending to remedy that, but something always seems to come up. I do try to make the ANA World's Fair of Money show every August. This year they are making it easy on me by holding it in Oklahoma City. No air fare and no hotel bills equal a nice coin!

Longtime collector (assembler would better descibe myself). Having been to FUN in prior years, I went down on Friday to just do a couple things specifically. Drove about 5 hours round trip and only spent about two and half hour at the show. Submitted a few notes to PMG for grading and a couple different coin submissions to Great Collections, one which they are going to have graded for me prior to auctioning. I didn't even know they offered that service. Saw some other folks/dealers that I know but just the big volume of dealers and hugh numbers of coins/currency was a little overwelming. Wished I had more time to mosey around and look for a fair bargain. I did think the prices seemed higher than say if you went into their shop to make a purchase, but the cost of paying for tables, airfare, hotels, meals is expensive especially for the smaller dealers, so I get it. At checkin was told Thursday was super crowded and the entire floor had sold out, which is great. You certainly will enjoy it when you get to go. The summer FUN show is about the same. Big crowds, expensive parking ($21.30 for the day), but I think the summer show is a tad better cause it doesn't get dark til well past closing time of the expo.

Being in central Minnesota, my go-to’s are similar to @Rushmore ’s. I like the shows in Fargo, ND but my favorites are the twice a year NWCC’s in Brooklyn Center (one used to be MOON). March and October will see me traveling to the Twin Cities, as long as my coin budget allows.

Well, I haven't been to a coin show since probably 1979ish, maybe! Yikes! So, I really want to attend some more local ones, just so I can figure out how it all works. And, then maybe move up to Chicago. And, then go to a National show or two!

Would love to meet you at the next FUN show, Rob!

I went to an ANA show once but it's been so long ago, I cant remember where it was. I told myself I would start going to more shows after I retired. It's time I started. Oklahoma City is a short drive for me. I'll be there.

I go to the Central States show because it's practically in my backyard. It's in April or May every year in Schaumburg, IL.

I do want to hit that one - it's only about 1.5 hrs away from me.
    You're talking about the CSNS Convention, correct? April 23rd - 26th, 2025

I've been to Brimfield before . . . not for coins, but for vintage household fixtures, and it's a sight to see!

I'm in western KY, a 2.5 hour drive from Nashville and St. Louis. I have attended a local show near Nashville a couple times and have found it pleasant. As the first show I ever attended, it helped me to see the workings of a show in a not so overwhelming way.
There's also the Nashville IMEX show which looks to be an every other year event which is returning this year. Hopefully they ironed out the issue of the inaugural year. I went there as my first "big" show. It was a good time for me, but much larger than I expected. Apparently dealers weren't too impressed. I can't speak to that though.
I do have the St. Louis CoinX show on my radar to hit up one year.

Yes, that's the one. As for the other one you mentioned, I hadn't heard of that before and it seems like it's new. I might try to check it out, though that's a busy time for my job. There used to be the World's Fair of Money in Rosemont as well and I went a few times, but I don't think it's there anymore.

The ANA World's Fair of Money will be back in Rosemont in 2027. It's being held in Oklahoma City this year and will be in Pittsburgh in 2026.

Time to make a list of these bigger shows with dates, and see if I can get permission from the boss to make a plan to take a/some road trip(s)!!!
