I have carried this coin in my wallet wraped in paper for about a year. Thinking it was just a doubled die. But now that i reaserch there isnt any doubled die variety out there to be seen. But this one. For now. 1938 D DDO & DDR. Liberty is clearly DD and IGWT is also. Along with the date. And on the reverse bottom of the rays. And sun And on the back USA is DD and it has the extra mark on the right leg like 1943 S DDODDR and all the lettering on the back is doubled. what yall think?
Let there be light. Enlightening you and healing the blind. And no you cant what i put in my hot choclate.
Put it back into your wallet for another year. Maybe it will turn into a silver dollar with non-existent doubling. Chris
A 1938-D is a semi-key (THE key for the second half of the set) coin. Please be satisfied with that. It's NOT doubled. How could it be? Collectors have been pouring over 1938-D halves for literally 80 years now.
