Those are satin coins. Different coins altogether.

Checked my order, still good. says "request in progress". Supposed to ship on April 4th. With the New Lincoln not being readily available, I think collectors and dealers overloaded the requests for the new cent, resulting in Sold Out.

No, the mint does not recall perfectly good already

No, the mint does not recall perfectly good already minted coins that I am aware of. They have been produced to feed the wheels of commerce and that is exactly what they will do sooner or later, (looks like much later).
This little 2-roll sets was an afterthought by a company seizing an oppertunity to make much more than seinorage.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but up until at least the first of this year was the mint even planning to sell the new Lincoln rev. cents in a manner other than mint and proof sets???????????????

Interestingly, the 2009-D is very common in business tills here 12 miles north of Mexico border. I managed to get a box from the bank although they said they generally don't supply coins to customers with non-business accounts. They had to open 5 boxes before they found the cabins box.

I think the reason they are so common here is that the bank runs a negative balance of coins. Many more go out than come in, since change is taken back to Mexico by cross-border shoppers. There are many thousands a day, since the border city is well over 2 million and my county is less than 200,000. US money is considered safer than Mexican ,so they don't exchange it. Also many money orders are sent to Mexico from US , specified as payable in US funds, so those mexican offices have to get change from the nearest US sources.

Kevinslack: At least you know for sure you are going to the bank. Them having them there is a different story.

If you get some, everyone will see you coming home.
