Does anyone here have a coin on display at Austin College's Virtual Catalog of Roman Coins? While browsing the site, I saw a familiar one: See: http://artemis.austincollege.edu/acad/cml/rcape/vcrc/search/2Detail1.asp?Recordset38_Action=Find(%27key%27,%271863%27)&Recordset38_Position=FIL%3A%28Issuer+LIKE+%27%25plotina%25%27%29ORD%3AABS%3A1KEY%3A1863PAR%3A I bought this coin from e-bay about 8 years ago and I believe it is the exact same coin. It is apparently ex-CNG, because they contributed the image to the Virtual Catalog of Roman Coins but I can't find it using the "research" function at CNG's web page. This is my photograph of the coin: Plotina, wife of Trajan, Augusta c. AD 105-122. Roman provincial AE 20 Caria, Tabae 5.43 g; 20.0 mm Obv: ΠΛΩΤΕΙΝ CΕΒΑCΤΗ, diademed and draped bust, r., hair in plait behind. Rev: ΤΑΒΗΝΩΝ, stag standing r. Refs: BMC Caria p. 170, no. 79; SNG von Aulock 2720. Post your plate coins, Plotinas, stags, or whatever seems related to this post! I'd love to see what you have!
