Edward the Confessor (1042-66) silver Penny ND (1050-53) MS63 PCGS, London mint, Godric as moneyer, S-1176, North-820.

    Seller's photos and description:
Expanding Cross Type. +EDPER | RD RE E, diademed bust left with scepter / +GΘDRIC ΘN LVNDN, voided short cross with expanding limbs; two circles at the center. A phenomenal example of this issue, well-struck and beautifully toned.

I've been after an Edward the Confessor penny but couldn't decide on one. The strike and toning on this one just did it for me:)

That is such a clean medieval coin!

Don’t see them so perfect very often.

    Nice pickup.

That is a great Edward penny @1934 Wreath Crown
I really like it. The strike is great and the tone is beautiful. I've wanted one of the Confessor for a while, especially this type.

1934 crown, I don't know much about this coin but is it like a dime in size or ? Beautiful!

I don't have it to hand yet but yes, its not a very big coin at all. I would say about the size of a dime.

I'm sure that was a wallet buster, but a beauty none the less. Would love an example of his.

A very nice penny of the Confessor!
Actually, one of the best that I have seen, and with very clear legends.

This is my penny of Edward, double struck obverse (which makes the king look a little like Santa Claus).
